'Threads Of Motherhood' 2025

 The exploration of teenage motherhood and how teen mothers are forced into a world of responsibility and adulthood before they're ready, they must navigate the overwhelming challenges of caring for a newborn while grappling with the loss of their own teenage years. The dreams of school dances, carefree moments with friends, and simple joys of youth are replaced by sleepless nights, endless worries, and the pressure of providing for a little life.

  • This piece combines sewn text and a cyanotype image of my teenage mother and me, alongside excerpts from a poignant conversation we shared about the hardships and sacrifices she endured. The interplay of fabric, text, and photographic imagery serves as a tactile and visual narrative of maternal strength, resilience.

 

'WHO R U' 2023

This performance piece, set in the heart of Coventry city centre, is a powerful response to the religious hypocrisy that often seeks to control a woman's autonomy over her own body. Through this immersive experience, I challenge the societal norms and oppressive beliefs that women face daily—forcing us to question the intersection of faith, control, and personal freedom. By confronting these contradictions in a public space, the piece becomes a catalyst for reflection and dialogue, urging viewers to consider the impact of these forces on women's lives and choices.

'Makeup Routine' 2023

These photography pieces explores the intersection of womanhood and ageism, shedding light on how societal standards have cultivated a pervasive fear of natural aging in women. It delves into the insecurities that women are conditioned to feel as they grow older, examining how these vulnerabilities are not only normalized but aggressively mass-marketed.

'Acts of service' 2022

This piece explores how the manipulation of space can create dramatic contrasts when taken to extremes. By adding and subtracting various elements of imagery, I examine how these shifts transform an environment, generating contradictions and tensions within the space itself. The work challenges the viewer to question how the presence or absence of certain visual elements can alter perceptions, revealing how the distortion of space and imagery can unravel deeper layers of meaning and create unexpected dialogues within the environment.
